Bow and Berry

Retail therapy....why does it feel so good???? But so many things, so little money :( BUT
The other day I bought a really cute striped tee with a silk black bow from good old Toppers and I love it! It's cute and it looks great with a slim black capri or denim....lovely!
And I got a really cute strawberry necklace that looks soooo plastic-licious...love it cos it looks like what you find from opening a cereal box! Ohhh I love TOPSHOP!!!

Nine rocks!

Finally! I got to watch Nine and I love it!! I'm rating it 4 stars out of 5! Here are all the low-downs of what I think of the movie:

The Good:
  • Excellent production quality!
  • Good directing with a good intersperse of music and it wasn't a musical overkill....
  • Great acting from the cast!
  • Catchy music
  • Fantastic choreography! My favorite number's the scene where Fergie was doing the dance on the chair with flying sand and the tambourine. Fergie is superb in there! For that little bit of screen bit Fergie got, putting on 9kg for the role seemed to be quite a big sacrifice in my book....but she's got nice voluptuous boobs I feel like squeezing....very jealous....
  • Sofia Loren looks regal in the film!
  • Daniel Day-Lewis looks ever so suave and charming...despite being a prick
  • The baby blue Alfa Romeo is super cute! And so are the rest of the old school Fiat vans! I love!
  • The scenes were beauuuutiful...Italy is beauuuuutiful
The Bad:
  • I hate the fact that they all speak Italian-accented English instead of Italian...Yes, I know it's a Hollywood film but it's still not okay for me....though they got the "Pronto" correct while picking up the phone........
  • The wardrobe looks too modern to be in the 60s....the cut of the outfit isn't quite from the 60s and after awhile, you kinda forgot that you're watching a movie based in the 60s...and the pointed bustline of the 60s was so exaggerated in the film that if a balloon fly by, it'll burst...costumes are important you know?
  • The sexy dance by Penelope Cruz is a bit scary because her hair looks more psychotic than bed-head...but other than that she did a great job! I love her still!
  • Nicole Kidman's got a bit too much botox and her forehead looks like a flatscreen tv and when she was singing to Guido Contini around the fountain...she looked almost expressionless :( It ruined the scene
  • Dame Judi Dench was rather scary with her low cut outfit....don't get me wrong...I love her but it's a bit scary to see crinkly saggy jiggly boobies that were about to spill out of her bra cup
Moral of the Story:
  • Never get involved/date/marry a player....a player is a fucker who'll screw your life with no remorse and he will not change....
  • Trying to commit suicide by overdosing with 5 to 6 pills will not kill you and will only make you look like a zombie with very dark rings around the eye (aka the Penelope Cruz scene)
  • Don't over tan yourself or you'll look wrinkly and leathery ala Sofia Loren (don't get me wrong, I love her!)
Thing is, I really love Penelope Cruz' and Nicole Kidman's characters cos they resonate with me the most cos it's a bit of a "Been there, done that" thing whereby at some point in my life, I've been stuck in shitty ratty romantic situation like that.....no, not involved with a married man but more like an asshole whom I couldn't quite bring myself to cut him off....sigh...it was almost poignant watching Penelope Cruz begged Guido to not leave her etc....it's heart-wrenching...sometimes I wonder why people (not just woman obviously) put themselves in shitty situation like that....oops...digressing... but anyway, the most important thing is, I'm happy now and Nine is a kick-ass musical....BB, who actually said "I don't like musical" confessed that he actually found the song and dance numbers in the movie fascinating and he said "I was hoping the normal drama part would go away quickly and then fast forward to the singing and dancing"...haha.....

No Love for Durian

I mentioned my umpteenth failed attempt to appreciate durian a couple of days ago and then someone asked me why I hate it so much....well, it's not that I hate it, it's just that it doesn't agree with my taste bud and its unique aroma tends to assault than caress my olfactory glands....so here's why I can't deal with durian:
  • It smells like gasoline mixed with cat piss (the tom cat kinda pee ie. the smelliest of all cat piss)....I remember once I was panicking at home and getting really angry at Mr Bond cos I could smell cat pee and I was frantically looking for the pee spot...ONLY to realise that my mom just opened the fridge to take out some durian and it was actually the smell of the spikey fruit
  • It tastes odd...like a mixture of oatmeal, smelly cheese, and mango (for that bit of sweetness) doused in gasoline...
  • It stinks up the whole fridge!!! Especially the ice!!!!
  • Your hands stink after durian...and my grandpa said you need to wash your hand with the durian seed...like hold the seed and do the soap lathering motion under the running water to get rid of the stench...fact or fiction??? Anyone knows??
  • You fart durian fart! My dad farted in front of me and it was a mixture of poo and durian smell....*vomit*
  • You burp durian....the smell just didn't go away even hours after I had that tiny spoonful of durian puree...and it's as if I'm burping gasoline....
  • I once puked because I got sick from the smell while being in a car with durian...of course the jerking car motion didn't help...but yes, I vomited and turn green...apparently many years ago in Hong Kong, before I moved to Singapore, it was reported in the news that an old British couple who were visiting Hong Kong saw the strange fruit for the first time in their entire life, got curious and took a big sniff and the wife passed out and was sent to the hospital....hmm...LOL
  • It doesn't look sexy or juicy like normal fruits....lame reason I know...
But yeah, I've tried many many many times to appreciate this king of all fruits and I envy those people who gush about it cos they have one more gourmet fruit to enjoy but it's been failed attempts after attempts for me to learn to love it...and I always feel sick after eating it and I think it's about time I give up...cos it's not working out...I'll save my share for those who knows how to appreciate it....

Safe sex with Ris Low....Boomz

Okay, for once, I'm starting to actually warm up to the former beauty queen cos I gotta give her credit for being a good sport to take the mickey out of herself cos come on, not everyone have the courage to do it!.....Click here to watch the video for "Safe Sex With Ris Low"....quite entertaining...and strangely endearing....and oh no, I'm actually starting to like her for the simple fact that she seems comfortable with herself and not trying to be what she's not, unlike someone OGT and I always bitch about....

Flower power!!!

Look what I've got yesterday!!! I can't remember when was the last time I got flowers! So this is a really nice surprise!! :) We're debating whether to put them in a vase but I'm keeping it in a bouquet cos it's prettier and I don't have a vase either...haha....Thank you BB!!!

Back at work :(

Geeez....I'm back at work now and I'm miserable cos waking up always is too much and it's now made worse when I did nothing for the last 2 weeks. Now I feel totally disoriented and lost having to wake up in the early morning trying to get to work......tragic!!!

And I just took 2 paracetamols just now  for headache and I think it's probably because of Durian cos I can't deal with durian but during the department Chinese New Year lunch, I obliged and tried it for the umpteenth time only to be reminded of why I can't stand durian....I really do think it smells of gasoline. So after I took my one and only spoonful, I started getting a headache and I asked for some painkiller until my colleague gave me some paracetamol.............and it's not Panadols and now I feel a bit drugged cos I'm getting drowsy and very very giddy....I think it's some weird ass drowsy formula my colleague gave me....omg...my eyes are about to shut....and I'm not even typing coherently......

L'Ombre dans l'eau

In 1961, three friends (Christiane Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet) from the “Beaux Arts” (a famous art school in Paris) got together to open a boutique where they sold their printed fabrics and an eclectic "mélange" of decorative items. Then in 1963, the enthusiasm of the three founders for perfumes and creation led them to create their first line of scented candles and  later, their very own perfume line which has proven to be one of the most sought-after cult perfume brands.

Their creations stem from memories of their travels through the Mediterranean and Near East mostly. They conjure up images of the Greek hot summer days, but also an orchard of limes and tangerines, the clear morning of a classical Latin landscape, noon in the countryside or the scent of a green riverside garden.

Carefully selected essences, a sober black and white design, with elegant lettering and stylish drawings are the unmistakable hallmark of Diptyque products. All the Diptyque fragrances are natural, whether they are woodsy, spicy, green, floral or fruity. It is Diptyque's proudest accomplishment to have never used a synthetic fragrance in developing its products. This happened to be what Miss B read of Diptyque back in early 2000 in Wallpaper Magazine (they were talking about Diptyque candles though...) and Miss B had since lusted after a bottle of Diptyque.

Then in 2004, Miss B happened to be in Paris and she got her first bottle of Diptyque L'Ombre dans l'eau and immediately fell in love with it and by about early 2005, Miss B's bottle of L'Ombre dans l'eau finally breathed its last drop of perfumed vapour and Miss B has since: 1) had problem buying Diptyque in Singapore 2) been too broke (like all cult perfume, it's not cheap) to buy another one while on tour (say in Melbourne or Hong Kong)....3) had other "scential" affairs with other perfumes (like 9 million different ones)

But on 19 February 2010, while pacing at Lane Crawford beauty hall at Pacific Place prior to meeting BB, Miss B finally replaced and bought a new bottle of Diptyque L'Ombre dans l'eau and once again, fell in love with it once more. And Miss B is super glad that BB finds it rather nice too. Miss B's memory of L'Ombre dans l'eau was once again refreshed and she's mesmerised by the wonderful mix of its unique and whimsical mix of blackcurrent leaves and bulgarian rose....the scent of a green riverside garden.

L'Ombre dans L'Eau has an arresting opening: crisp, bitter green notes of blackcurrent leaf jump up and kick your nose around a bit, just to make sure you're awake. These are followed almost immediately by a very clear, three dimensional rose note, which soon blends with the green to form the heart of the fragrance. What comes to mind is a rose growing in wet earth....a very nice warm comforting scent...
This is a dark rose scent, more masculine than unisex (Diptyque sells it as a unisex perfume but I think BB will think it's too feminine and won't use it) to my nose, and with an element of danger hovering deep in the shadowy background (thus "L'Ombre"). Perfect for me who shuns all girly sweet and saccarine-laced rose scents but yet wants a nice rose fragrance...Bliss.....especially when BB is around to sniff it too....oh...and I think I have a new perfume waiting for me in Singapore courtesy of BB...will blog about it when I get my hands on it :)

Kitty Love

If you hate Hello Kitty, then you should click that little cross on the corner of your browser cos I'm gonna show you the Hello Kitty stuff I've bought!

Yes, I unashamedly and openly adore and LOVE Hello Kitty and I'm a Hello Kitty fan! Why? Because she's cute and mostly because it's a childhood issue! When I was young, I went to some crazy elite girl school where the girls pimped all their latest Hello Kitty school bags, pencil case, erasers and coin purses. And I? I had none and momma B refused to indulge in me because she thinks Hello Kitty stuff is exorbitant and thus, I was the Hello Kitty-less girl and consequently, a bit of an outcast and got treated like the weirdo girl who chews her hair at the back of the class....And now that I've got my own money, it's revenge time and when I see Hello Kitty stuff, I go a bit ga-ga...BUT, yes, BUT I ain't those scary people who use Hello Kitty everything and neither is my room filled with Hello Kitty everything (OGT, Dan, Scottie and the gang can vouch for me!!)....I buy little things like cosmetic pouches, key chains and coin pouch though I do have ONE Hello Kitty hoodie which I love to bits and it's super cute!
Momma B, being totally not in-tune with stuff like this actually asked how come the Hello Kitty here has got an eye missing...totally unaware that Hello Kitty, is in fact, winking...LOL

Anyway, my favorite Hello Kitty shop in Hong Kong is strangely in some out of the way, hole-in-the-wall shop in some dodgy mall but the puny little shop is indeed a treasure trove for all things Hello Kitty and they have other Sanrio characters too....here's what I've got!

I can't resist....they look so cute with candy colored beads and stuff...I got both...actually my cousin bought me the denim one....I'm gonna be really disgusting some time and use them as bag charms...

Awwww....Dear Daniel & Hello Kitty...the couple phone strap...I had to buy it and it's fate that I went back to the shop days later after Valentine's Day and still fine it there!!!

Super cute Hello Kitty PJ imported from Japan and it's got super duper soft quality cotton...comes with PJ pants too but most likely I'll just wear the top...not cheap...it's $420 HKD but I want it!

That's all for now....but I'm hoping to get more little Hello Kitty knick knacks....hahaha....

The Maesa Elephant Camp

When I first heard that my Chiang Mai tour involved elephant ride and performance, my heart sank cos I've never been an advocate of keeping wild animals in a confined place...I'm quite the opposite in fact, championing for the release of wild animals and my mom told me that my soft spot for animals started since I was little. She told me when I was about 3 years old, she brought me to a local circus and whilst all the kids were cheering for the bear to perform, I started crying and throwing tantrum saying that it's so cruel to chain the brown bear and whip it and I was the only child crying and screaming in horror, my mom was naturally embarrassed, trying to silent her crazy child...the rest just cheered and got excited....So you can imagine how I felt when I heard that my Chiang Mai trip included a visit to an elephant "camp"....the only elephant place I ever wanted to go to is the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai where I wanted to volunteer (didn't go in the end cos couldn't find anyone to go with)...elephant camp was a big no no....but then in order not to upset my dad who organized this family trip (it's our first family trip in the last 20 years.....), I went ahead to the Maesa Elephant Camp....well, only to be surprised that the elephants are indeed quite happy and well taken care of as the tour guide mentioned...

I didn't believe her at all initially but then at Maesa Elephant Camp, the 78 elephants are indeed in their natural habitat. They DO live in the forest (it's even got a river!) with their mahouts and the camp doesn't tolerate abuse of any sort cos any mahout suspected of abuse will be fired. They also have vets who regularly check on the elephants and they breed the elephants for conservation too. So I felt better there and then...and guess what? I was totally blown away by the amazing performance they put up...they looked genuinely happy unlike the elephants in Phuket who were in the hot sun on the street or on the beach away from their natural habitat...those poor pets....sigh....

Anyway, the elephants at Maesa are such intellegent bunch!!! Not only can they dance, play harmonica, play soccer, they can even PAINT....yes, no joke, these gentle giants PAINT...like a PRO!!! I'm not kidding you! See for yourself....
The elephant painter carrying its little painting kit...awww...

The Mahout preparing the paint (non toxic...yeah I asked)

Starting.....

Ohhhh what's that? Looks like a plant of sort?

Wow...it is a plant....

OMG....he's painting flowers!!!!!!!! A proper flower plant!!!

OMFG!!!! The elephant paints better than I do...despite my having 10 fingers...

Voila! The final product...available for sale and I immediately bought 2!

An abstract piece done by another elephant....nice..

This is by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen in Thailand!!!! I'm so impressed I bought 2 paintings back cos I was literally speechless....They apparently handpick the smart elephants for painting class and training starts when they're about 4 years old and it'll take at least 3 to 4 months to train them before they can get decent....they're so smart!!! Ridley's Believe It Or Not actually did a program on this....and they were even on the Guinness World Record! The tour guide said the most expensive painting was sold at $4 million Thai Bhat which is about $250,000 SGD....now that's something....it's truly amazing and if you have the chance to go Chiang Mai, it's worth a visit....here's their website

I LOVE elephants!!!!!

What NOT to do on a flight!

I'm back from my Golden Triangle tour! But before I started uploading travel pictures and do other posts, I MUST do a post on "What Not to do on a Flight" cos on transit from Bangkok to Chiangmai, some moron seating behind me invaded my space with his dirty foot!!!!! I was at the window seat and then while happily chatting away with my mom and sister, I saw a freaky looking man foot!! With dirty nails, some round strange blister and hairy knuckles no less...ewwww....look!

The space invading podiatric horror!

Now here's how close it was to me.....ewww

Close up....good zoom lens! Okay, fine...I've seen worse foot but at least this didn't stink! Oh there's even a tiny teeny mole on the big toe
So here you go: Do NOT stick your dirty bare foot out and invade the passenger in front. Yes, I know I know, economy class isn't the most spacious but still, have some class if even if you're in economy and don't do red neck stuff like that!! My mom said I should poke his foot with tooth picks but then after some deliberation with the very mischevious Momma B, we've agreed on mixing some sugar with some warm tea to get a thick sugar syrup thing and "accidentally" splashing some over his toes so he'd get sticky toes and would learn his lesson...but just as I was about to complete the marvelous concoction, he finally put it down.....what disappointment...so I tried to snap a picture of him instead but then Momma B refused to help cos she said she wanna get out of the Golden Triangle alive...so I took a shot of his reflection and that's him....
Nooo, he's not PRC, he's Thai and he actually looked rather decent...despite the luminous yellow polo tee shirt....

Anyway, now I'm back in Hong Kong and it's bloody freeeeeeezing!!! It was 34 degrees in Thailand and now it's only 9 degrees in Hong Kong and the heater in my room just broke down.....heaven hates me!

Beauty Fix.....

No Hong Kong trip is complete without me raiding SaSa Cosmetics and Cle de Peau Beaute.......SaSa cos it's cheaper here and also they've got more interesting and exciting products....Singapore ones pale in comparison and yesterday I bought the Sana Soy Bean Mask and makeup base...turned out that my sister Becks has bought the toner after reading on my blog that it's really good and she, too, gave the thumbs up...so I'm gonna try the make-up base which has SPF 19 PA++ and the sheet mask which HL said is pretty good...and it's much cheaper here too! Mask going at like $16 SGD and here it's about $12 SGD.....sorry I'm really kinda cheapo when it comes to stuff like this but as Ah Meow always says..."EVERY drop counts!".....especially when I'm so broke....

Oh then of course Cle de Peau Beaute is MUCH cheaper here!!!!!! I bought the Lip Treatment while helping Lisa get hers and also the mask....it's SO MUCH cheaper here! It's ridiculous! It's going at about $70 SGD here but back in our durian island it's $110 SGD!!!! A whopping $40 more...why??? I have no idea.....and the Cle de Peau mask is also cheaper too! It's about $155 SGD here but back home it's $210 SGD! WTF? I don't understand and Lisa ordered 2 boxes! And for the La Creme...5 years ago, the price difference is $100 SGD and now it might be more...so thing is, if you wanna buy Cle de Peau stuff, go HK and buy it...I might actually buy the concealer but still thinking....we'll see....

Gonna go for family trip tomorrow and I won't be blogging until I come back......kinda excited!!!!

Fishball fix....

Okay day 2 of food fix and I've got the famous HK curry fishball that used to play a major part in my childhood....it's not just any random fishball and it's certainly not the type you get in Singapore cos the real HK roadside fishball isn't perfectly round. They're a bit small and irregular in shape and they're super springy with super nice chewy texture! It comes in 2 flavor normally...original and curry...of course the curry is the better one but some people think it's too spicy! And I've found a seriously good one in Yuen Long...
See...it says super spicy, springy fishball....mega yumz!
I bought 4 sticks but instead of giving me in little sticks, they put them in a tub....and it's fantastic!...I remember when I was in primary school, I used to buy it from the mobile hawker outside my school and if I get the curry sauce on my white shirt, I would get shit from my mom cos the sauce is a total bitch to wash off...it's almost like a permanent dye of sort....tumeric they said but it might just be yellow highlighter fluid...haha...but who cares...it tastes divine...childhood memory...this stall sells really yummy Japanese Takoyaki too! And original as well cos they're smaller like the ones in Japan...the ones is Singapore aren't the same as the one in Japan...didn't manage to take a snap shot cos it disappeared within a minute after I opened the box but here's how the fishball looked like....
See how it's actually smaller than the ones we're used to in Singapore?
Anyway, it's freeeezing today. The weather's been totally nuts cos yesterday was insanely warm at 25 degrees and it was so warm my mom contemplated turning on the aircon and this morning, the temperature suddenly dropped and it's now 13 degrees and I'm freezing my stupid ass off....I'm now all wrapped up like the Michelin man with thick jackets and I even had to wear a beanie cos it was that cold and windy...and I'm now having a buzzing headache from standing in the wind waiting for the car....Tomorrow's our family trip and I'm totally thrilled to know that we're not only going to Chiang Mai but we're doing a Tri-nation run to also Myanmar and Laos!!!! Awesome! Will try to take more pictures!

My LOVE!!!

How I love blueberry!!!!!

Noodle fix....

"Muck Ngun Kay"'s sign...in Chinese...please read from right to left please...
Day 1 of HK....."Muck Ngun Kay" Wanton Noodle Shop!!!!!!!!!! The BEST wanton noodle money can buy!!!! But today, instead of wanton noodle, I opted for the spicy pork sauce noodle or "char cheung meen" (in mandarin it's "za jiang mian")....I went to the outlet in Causeway Bay instead cos I happened to be in the area to help Lisa and Chris buy their beauty supply.....the original shop is in Central though but it's always too busy...the Causeway Bay outlet is a lot less crowded and I went just a wee bit before lunch and managed to get a table...Here's my grub
"Char Cheung Meen" from the famous HK wanton noodle shop!
So why is their noodles so good? It's all in the noodle itself cos it's soooooo very springy, fine, and chewy. Just the perfect texture and of course for the wanton and meat sauce itself are great too, the chunky wanton is made from fresh shrimp and it's so fresh the shrimp is crunchy (my mom and sister had the wanton noodle) and the soup is super nice too! So it's really a bit like the chicken rice situation where it's about the rice...for this, it's all about the noodle...it's perfect really! You can never find noodle this good in Singapore...BUT the portion is very small...it might look big here but it's really very very tiny...I finished this in about 6 mouthfuls and most of the time people need more than one bowl/plate....I was tempted to ordered another one but I stopped cos I wanna have other food.....and it's not exactly cheap either cos this one is $45 HKD and it's about $8 SGD and you don't feel full but then it's all worth it....it's soooo good I have to go back again.....
Here's me and my mom at Muck Ngun Kay....that's her BEST smiley face...she said she doesn't know how to smile in pictures....strange I know...so she forever looks like a grumpy frump in photos.....

Ho ho ho!!!

Horror at the Grammys! Sun Ho rocked up at the 52nd Grammys in this get-up and I hope nobody knows she's from Singapore cos otherwise the whole world's gonna think that our little island of durian eaters are full of skanks!!! Instead of screaming MILF, it screams of her surname....Ho'(bag)....What's with this CFM outfit (CFM=Come Fuck Me)? I'm sorry if I offend anyone who thinks she's a major fan wank but I have problem with her and I'm very very sure that there're a big group of Sun Ho'(bag) haters in our little durian land. You'll just need to do a Sun Ho'(bag) search and you'll see threads after threads of Ho'(bag) bashing....

I guess most people (myself included) have issues with her because she's hypocritical....She started off as a pastor at the City Harvest Church, all holy and wholesome, preaching and singing inspirational Christian songs, saying how she would want her music to inspire and the whole "I do God's work through my voice" *barf* rubbish....then before you know it, her skirt got shorter, her neckline plunged, her image got skankier and suddenly she said she's not a pastor anymore!! After she "un-pastored" herself she popped a baby boy, moved to US, hung out with Wyclef Jean, made some trashy music, bared her somewhat untoned midriff in her skanky MTV "China Wine", replaced her short skirt with tiny short shorts that would make Bruno blush, and now she started singing songs that inspire people to do the dirties like gyrating flabby abs, dancing like a slut with a few chicks caressing her booty or slapping the cheating black boyfriend while calling the other woman a 狐狸精 (foxy hubby/bf stealer)...just click here to watch....and seriously, why the hell does she call herself a "Geisha" in the MTV???? You named the song China Wine but you call yourself a Geisha which is erm...Japanese?? I think she should be ashamed of herself for messing up with the Chinese and Japanese cultures. And what happened to her higher godly purpose of inspiring people with her *vomit* voice?

She claims she's still a good Christian and God's still in her heart blah blah blah....of course...a good Chrisitna she is indeed, moving to US away from her hubby and depriving her son of a normal upbringing with both parents around *eye roll*.....oh speaking of the boy, what happened to her son by the way? ......and I would be horrified to find out that my mom actually had a skanky China Wine MTV. Poor boy....And I don't care if she does humanitarian work and shipped herself to hardship in Haiti to help the peeps, but if my pastor of a husband earns soooo much, or rather, used to earn so much from the church, I can go Haiti too......I really think if she just openly says that she just wants to be a pop star and that she's always wanted to be one and she's "un-pastored" herself so she can realize her pop star dream, people would be more welcoming and accepting of her.....always better to be honest than to pretend to be what you're not I guess....

And oh...leave that outfit to Rihanna....it'll look better on Ri Ri...than Ho Ho Ho.......

P.S. Uncle Josh just sent me Ho'(bag)'s latest MTV Fancy Free and it's sooooo gross....she looks so trashy...watch....and barf...

February Muse

Here you go for the must-haves of Feb..........

Reading: Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh....Time Magazine touted it as one of the 100 best English literature from 1923 to now...'nuff said...Okay, I need to finish off the last bit of whatever I'm reading...which is taking forever thanks to the bloody long hours I slog in now...
Listening to: Black Eyed Peas "The End"....in particular I Got A Feeling...in anticipation of my homecoming trip and 13 days of not working...I can't wait...so near yet so far! Oh....I'm absolutely LOVING Timbaland's Morning After Dark ft Nelly Furtado and SoShy....I just do not get sick of it....super catchy...Timbaland rocks....
Loving: My Mulberry Alexa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooo in love!!!!!!
Wearing: Sage roll-on perfume oil in Citrine...it's one of my all-time favorite and I dug it out to rediscover its nice soft feminine scent....also wearing my leopard print trench coat I pimped from Forever21...yeah when I touch down HK in approximately 5 days...woot....'
Using: Ichikami Shampoo, Conditioner & Treatment....from Watsons (where else?)...but this stuff kicks ass cos it doesn't contain Silicone like most shampoos do. Silicone is that stuff that makes your hair ridiculously smooth and tangle-free and no doubt it coats the hair and makes it manageable but in the long-run it's bad for your hair and is known to cause hair fall...so this one is good. You don't get that rather fake super smooth feeling but your hair feels light and it's got a nice Sakura scent...love it! Cheap too...about 8 bucks a pop I think...
Lusting after: Canon S90...I haven't got a camera for like years...been relying on my phone and I want this cos it's a semi-pro...a bit like a tiny DSLR in a compact point & shoot body....but then I sacrifice this for my Alexa....this one can wait....And I'm also lusting after the Tiffany Crown Key pendant too...Alexa has sapped me of my shopping budget.....this, too, gotta wait.....my initial intention was to get the Tiffany Crown Key pendant cos it's like a fraction of the price of the Alexa but then I ended up doing the reverse...now camera and necklace gotta wait...booo

Zen & the Homecoming Trip...

Insane week and the madness should end just about 11pm tonight....and I'm counting down to Hong Kong & Chiang Mai.....and here're the things I would do when I get back to Hong Kong:
  • Forget about vegetarianism for a bit...I'll eat Roasted Goose from "Yong Kay" and kick ass wanton noodle from "Nguun Kay"....then curry fishball by the roadside somewhere in Causeway Bay, the filthier looking the better....oh god...salivating...
  • Operation H&M Raid!
  • Watsons & drugstore fiasco.....buy new stuff, try new stuff, introduce new stuff, my humble contribution to mankind
  • Pacific Plaza rendezvous....Seibu!!! All the lovely cult skincare, cosmetics and perfume...and swing by Joyce Beauty too....I want Diptyque perfume! Available here in Tangs now but HK's got more!!!
  • Xiao long bao and szechuan hot&sour soup somewhere in Yuen Long....nevermind I'll smell like pork buns when I walk out

Hello, my name is Alexa. Nice to meet you!

Hello, my name is Alexa Mulberry, the cute shiny leopard specialty leather one, I'm from England and I've been touted the hottest IT bag for 2010 and all my brothers and sisters have all been sold out in England and the waiting list has grown pretty long now. I got sent to Singapore in January this year and right now, I'm one of the two shiny leopard Alexas around. Then a couple of days ago, someone called B laid her little hands on me and she couldn't put me down and had to be dragged out of the shop. She apparently went home thinking of me even more and losing sleep over it for not bringing me home. Then 2 days later, Missy B came back to see me! She was feeling me up all over before telling the lovely shop lady that she'd like to be my mommy and then she happily took me home!
Me sitting on Missy B's lap on the way to her work
Missy B had waited for me since last November and she absolutely dotes on me, bringing me everywhere and patting me and admiring me all the time. She carries me 3 different ways, on her arm, on her shoulder and across her as a sling. I feel super loved! And my new mommy is always gushing about how pretty I am! Ohhh I love my new mommy too!! I wonder if I'll have any new siblings soon....but mommy said she's now really broke and new siblings would have to wait, I'll have to play with the Daria, Roxanne and Bayswater for now but there're some jealous friends around named 2.55, Balenciaga and what nots and they're jealous cos mommy hasn't brought them out for a looong while...even my own siblings are kinda jealous cos I've been following mommy out for the last two days and probably for a bit more too....hee hee heee....

Getting Axed

This might not be good....but it seems like my path to granny-hood has started because I've been initiated into the granny-hood coming-of-age item and I love it. Say hello to Axe Brand Universal Oil......It's my baptism into Granny-hood and Axe
Oil used to be something I hate and detest when I was younger....but now, thanks to Ah Meow at work who's passed this contagious bug to me, I'm hooked and now I have a tiny bottle tucked somewhere in my purse...like an old granny...

It all started with one stuffy day in the office where strange smell started diffusing into our room from next door....it's some kind of stale nasty mouldy smell that reminds me of serious bad breath from someone dying of haltosis and that soury stench lingered in the stale dank room and it made me nauseous. Ah Meow quickly whipped up the axe oil and rubbed some under her nose and I looked at her stunned saying "You're like a grandma!" and she said she'd rather smell axe oil than haltosis breath. So I did it the modern way and put two drops onto a tissue paper, inhaled and refreshed..... mildy dissatisfied and horrified that I actually did find it appealing and refreshing.....Ah Meow said she doesn't give a damn about what people think of axe oil and call her grandma if you wish but if she needs to whip it out in the middle of Zouk while clubbing, whip it out and rub it under her nose she will!

Then another unfateful day where both Ah Meow and I were on Bus 14 to town, a whiff of someone's stinky feet started invading the air...it was a rainy day and I was turning green from nausea thanks to the combination of stinky feet and jerky ride....so I did axe oil the real hard core way---rub it under the nose....refreshed again!...though it tingled my skin a bit too much......Then yet another day, after getting bitten by sand flies at work, Ah Meow poured some over my bites and the itch subsided ! And finally, my fate was sealed when I walked into Watsons from another a stinky and jerky bus ride to buy a bottle of mini axe oil to chase the nausea away before my workout....so there, the teeny bottle now nicely tucked somewhere in my gorgeous Alexa....I'm sold and yeah, I don't care...I love it...it works! What's next? Walking stick and bi-focal?

Feel Good FTW Trio

Antidote to insanity.....Three bad-ass old songs that I blast into my ears to keep me sane cos they're bad ass...soooo bad....but soooo good....

  1. I Love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts (gives you the FTW attitude...)
  2. Love Shack by B52
  3. Maria by Blondie (Whoever that Korean chick is in 300 Pound Beauty please go away...here's the real dope)
Very effective in preventing carnage in office and maintaining sanity....it's hard to continuously be in a foul mood for long when you plug them in your ears....works for me at least

Face Dope

I've again discovered yet another face dope the other day while cheap-thrilling at Watsons with OGT and HL. I took a look at the SANA CG Style Make Skin Face Powder and initially cringed cos it's got such a cyborg feel to it despite promising to give you flawless skin that looks like you're magazine airbrushed perfect. CG stands for Computer Graphic literally and it just reminds me of kinky Japanese femme bots but HL reminded me that testing new products and then sharing the good ones with everyone is an important contribution to mankind so I bought the cyborg looking face powder....

Pleasant surprise once again and now I'm convinced that SANA products realy are pretty kick ass cos this powder is coke for face!!! You dust it over your foundation (liquid or powder) and OMG, it really illuminates and also makes your pores vanished into thin air. Okay, of course you don't look photoshopped and it's not really CG cos if your make up makes you look CG, then girl, you're wearing WAY too much. But this one really does make your skin flawless and a glow...you know really a little bit like the glossy sheen those models spot on magazines? Not exact effect but good enough and you wouldn't wanna have the exact effect like those in the mags without looking like a freak. But the pearlized powder in this stuff really works and honestly, it's really the best illuminating powder I've tried so far and trust me, I've tried a lot of them. Some more expensive ones....this is now my favorite make up item!!!! I'll stock up cos I think I'm gonna wear it everyday...it's totally awesome...now do I deserve some karma coins for sharing this or what??
